Type 2 Diabetes Remission
There is growing evidence and realisation that it is possible for some people to reverse their diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes and put it into remission.
Type 2 diabetes remission is when your blood sugar levels return to a safe, non-diabetes level long-term, without the need for glucose-lowering medication. It stops diabetes in its tracks and boosts your chances of a healthy future.

When you are in remission, you reduce the risk of diabetes causing damage to you. People in remission say it's life changing.

If you can get your HbA1c into the green area (<48) and keep it there without the need for medication then you will have put your Type 2 Diabetes into remission. Getting your HbA1c there with medication or reduced medication is also really worthwhile.
You should still attend your annual checks including your eye screening. You will remain at high risk of needing to go back onto medication if your sugar levels rise.
