We are excited to announce the launch of our new Health Kiosks recently installed at the Red and Green Practice. They are located in the reception waiting area at the Waterside and Blackfield Health Centres.
This innovative tool is designed to enhance patient engagement, streamline routine health checks, and support our clinical workflows.

What is the Health Kiosk?

The Health Kiosk is a self-service station that allows patients to perform basic health measurements
such as:
-
Blood pressure
-
Height and weight
-
BMI calculation
-
Heart rate
-
Patient questionnaires (e.g., lifestyle, mental health, or pre-consultation assessments)
Why use the Health Kiosk?

-
Provide your up to date health information ready for your appointment.
-
Take independent review questionnaires at a time convenient to you.

Please note: You will not be permitted to use the Health Kiosk if you are not a registered patient with the Red and Green practice.

Read the instructions carefully before using the Blood Pressure and Scales machines.

How to use the Blood Pressure Machine
-
Sit on the chair provided with your legs placed together on one side of the BP monitor.
-
Adjust the height of the chair until your heart is level with the BP monitor.

If your Blood Pressure reading is out of range, you may be asked to take it again up to a total of 3 times, with a short break between each reading.

Blood Pressure Unit Arm Size
Please do not use the Blood Pressure Unit if your arm circumference is greater than 35cm as this will give you an artificially high reading.

How to use the Height and Weight Scales

-
For a more accurate reading please remove your shoes before standing on the scales.
-
Stand upright on the scales.
-
Adjust the height bar so that it just touches the top of your head.
-
When a stable measurement has been made, the scales will beep once.
-
the kiosk screen will update when the measurement has been taken from the scales.

A tick will appear in the boxes for the health questionnaires that you have completed. You do not need to complete all the questionnaires on the screen at once - but you may be advised to ensure certain health questionnaires have been completed before your annual health review appointment, for example Asthma, COPD or General Health Check.
